Summer Stylized Maternity : Missoula, Montana Artistic Photography

The year of 2012 brought a lot of fun and excitement. this summer I reconnected with a long time family friend, Jessa. I knew we both lived in Missoula, but one lost cell phone later we lost touch. It was so nice to randomly run into her at the Dollar Tree. I knew she was married, but I quickly learned she was expecting her first baby! What an exciting time in her life and a perfect time for us to capture. Before I knew it we were giggling it up and being dorks as cars drove by watching us shoot this session. It was almost as if we’d never lost touch, our connection is that strong. We sang songs we made up in our “secret club” and talked about our past babysitting adventures, and our trip to Miss Montana when I was in 7th grade. There are fewer things in life more valuable than a true, lifelong friend. I not only got to capture these maternity moments, but eventually captured baby Genevieve’s birth. How fleeting those moments are. Becoming a parent for the first time is scary and magical all at once. To be able to have a document of the raw emotion of literally seeing and holding your child for the first time is nothing short of breathtaking. Baby Genevieve is on the Baby’s First Year plan, so you will be seeing a lot of her and her family in the months to come! Here is a highlight of Jessa’s maternity session.

Summertime Baby Bump : Missoula, Montana Artistic Maternity Photography

This is part two of Jolene’s maternity session. I am so far behind in blogging! I made a deal with myself that I HAVE to blog more in 2013! We shot this session in a cul de sac of all places! A friend and I were out garage sale-ing this summer and took a wrong turn and were just in awe of the beauty as we turned around. Even in Missoula I find amazing photo opportunities in ditches and little alcoves all over the place! We started shooting about 2 hours before the golden hour. Although the sun wasn’t in the ideal spot, we made it work. There were tall yellow weeds that looked like dreamy flowers. If it wasn’t so hot we might have stayed a bit longer to get a few more artistic shots.

Medlinger Maternity : Missoula, Montana Photographer

I especially love taking photos of my family. This is my sister Melessa and her growing family. This was from last May! My nephew Sawyer was born August 10, 2012. I had the opportunity to photograph his birth! Before this, the only other birth I’d photographed was my niece Kiley, but this was long before I was a photographer. I’ve since shot yet another birth! I so wished I’d had a birth photographer when I had my son Boston. My husband and I did a pretty decent job of documenting his entrance into the world, but again, it could have been better if we’d had a professional there! Black Mother/Daughter : Missoula, Libby, Montana Photography

To date, this is still one of my favorite sessions. Rylee was a natural model. I didn’t even need to tell her what to do! She and her mother look like twins separated by time! We shot this in late June this year (a little late in posting? I think so!) in Halley’s fathers beloved garden. I learned these pictures would be bitter sweet as they are selling the house! At least we memorialized and immortalized the gorgeous garden in our fun mother/daughter shoot! Thanks again Halley, it was such a pleasure to capture you and your precious girl.

Schulte Family : Libby, Montana Family Photography

I’m getting so far behind in blogging! That’s a good thing though, it means I’m busy. Every photographer loves and needs to be busy to be happy! To get everyone updated, as of today I am fully booked for my Libby sessions through the end of the year. I do have ONE spot left in December. It is available on a first come, first serve basis. This wonderful family session was from June! See, I told you I was behind. I enjoyed watching the kids do what they do as I snapped some fun candids. The more traditional shots were made more fun by the sticking out of tongues and the presentation of a little toy. Thanks again for a fun filled family session Sommer!

Slingsby Maternity : Missoula Montana Photograpy

I had fun meeting up with the growing Slingsby family. It was kind of a last minute plan, but it all went off without a hitch. We ended up splitting the session into two parts because the sun escaped behind the mountain pretty quickly. We sure made it work in the quick 30 minutes we had! They have since had a beautiful baby boy! Look for the next maternity session and baby Caden’s newborn session coming soon!

Baby Evan : Libby Montana Newborn Photographer

Brandie, Jimmy and James are back, but this time they have another little guy to include! I was so glad to be able to capture baby Evan on his ninth day of life. We had a supper fun family shoot last November. James was very busy with his “Doh-Doo” aka lawn mower. We tried to get some maternity pictures before Evan made his arrival, but our schedules just never matched up, bummer! Big brother napped until the very end of the session. Then it was his turn to shine. Thanks again Brandie and Jimmy. I hope to continue capturing family memories for years to come.
